We study the glass transition in systems interacting via anisotropic interactions, starting with a recently introduced model and ending up with laboratory experiments on glycerol. We work out the statistical mechanics of theses interesting system, encoding the liquid and glass disorder using appropriate up-scaling to quasi-species. The theory provides a pleasing explanation of the glass transition phenomenology, including the identification of a diverging length scale and a relation between the structural changes and the diverging relaxation times.
