Seminar

"Journal Club" on Zero-range processes and exclusion processes

René Pfitzner
New Mexico Consortium and CNLS

Since the 1970s zero-range processes and exclusion processes have been studied quiet a lot, as witnessed by hundreds of publications. Commonly the exclusion process is referred to as the "Ising-model of non-equilibrium thermodynamics". In this little seminar I will try to give a brief overview of the existing literature (certainly not exhaustive), especially recent contributions addressing effects of open boundaries, driven systems and disorder. Everyone interested is welcome - I would especially appreciate audience with some background in this area, since aim is to contribute to this community and comments are most welcome.
