We recently published scientific results from the first complete cosmological N-body simulation using over one Trillion (1e12) particles. Such models are essential for many aspects of the study of dark matter and dark energy. The simulation was performed with our 2HOT code, a purely tree-based adaptive N-body method, running on 200,000 cores and 12,000 GPUs of the Titan supercomputer at ORNL. The simulation ran at 3-6 Petaflops/s from start to finish in a single 34 hour period on April 18-19 2014. We will describe our mathematical and computational approach, present our scientific results, review the initial 55 Terabyte public data release, and discuss the numerous challenges to computing effectively at these scales.
