Analyzing and modeling the dynamics of virus within an infected person has brought many insights into disease pathogenesis, immune responses and treatment (and by the way “it was invented†at LANL). Here I will present a basic introduction to the biology of viruses and their interaction with the immune system, how we go about modeling the dynamics of virus and the effects of treatment. I will try to show how (simple) models have provided important insights into the biology of some viral infections. Hopefully this presentation will be interactive, and it is especially suited for people who are curious about this topic even though it may not be their main focus of research. Host: Robert Ecke |
