Opacities are a key ingredient in stellar input physics. The values of the opacity coefficients affect the pulsational properties of models. These properties, such as periods and amplitudes of the oscillations, can be measured with high precision and provide constraints on the underlying coefficients. In this talk, I will present a general scheme of asteroseismic analysis, concentrating on the role of opacity in stellar structure, evolution and pulsation. It will be shown that relatively small differences in the opacities available in databases like the OP, OPAL and new Los Alamos OPLIB libraries can have quite a large impact on stellar models.
