Plasma Energization: Exchanges Between Fluid and Kinetic Scales

Conference Details: A challenging physics frontier problem encountered in the field of laboratory, space and astrophysical plasmas is how to couple the kinetic and fluid scales. It has been recognized in a wide variety of systems that plasmas get energized through exchanges among different scales. The purpose of this conference is to explore various aspects of this problem with active researchers who come from a wide range of backgrounds and who are expects in their individual fields. They will share their experiences and best practices while collaborating with one another and LANL scientists in theoretical astrophysics, plasma physics, space physics and laboratory sciences.
