Iron-based superconductivity has been at the forefront of condensed matter physics for the past eight years. In this talk, I will present a brief overview of the field, and discuss several issues that highlight how it provides a new setting to elucidate the physics of strong correlations in complex quantum systems. In particular, I will discuss the properties that have motivated the considerations of frustrated magnetism in this context, and the implications of such considerations on quantum criticality, nematic correlations, and (orbital-selective) superconductivity.
