This talk addresses the question of how DNA -information is processed and subsequently considers novel perspectives on evolution. Molecular structures, exemplified by RNA structures shall play a fundamental role in this information processing and the presentation provides a brief introduction in the modeling of such structures as fatgraphs and their role in evolutionary paths.
