Due to the rapidly growing energy demand and limited resources of fossil fuels to meet that creating energy crisis all over the world.Harnessing renewable energy sources such as solar power can solve this crisis by providing clean energy. Solar cells are the electrical devicethat directly converts the solar energy into electricity by using the photovoltaic effect of materials. In my talk, starting with a generalintroduction, I will focus on the newly discovered promising materials for solar cells. Particularly, metal halide perovskite solar cells have rapidly emerged as leading contenders in photovoltaic technology.However, the poor structural stability and toxicity related to lead seriously hinder the advancement of this field. Compositionalengineering is found to be the promising solution to these challenges. In this talk, atomic-scale insights into the local structures anddynamics and their effect on the photovoltaic performance and stability will be discussed. These studies help the community to gain a fundamental understanding of composition engineering of hybridperovskites to produce stable and efficient solar cells. Host: David Métivier |
