As researchers, we haven't accomplished anything until we communicate our findings, and telling is not the same as communicating. In this workshop, I will introduce topics such as knowing your audience, how to structure your talk and build a compelling narrative, and how to guide the audience's focus. This twenty-minute presentation will be followed by an interactive workshop in which participants will employ these tools as they practice introducing and motivating the presentation of famous scientific discoveries and/or their own research topics. This workshopis geared toward students and those with little presentation experience, but may offer some useful tidbits for the seasoned presenter. This is arepeat of the same workshop offered last year. Host: David Métivier |
